1994
The first ever official BCT was in 1994, at Elora Gorge, ON. We were all around 23 years old, seems like a life time ago. Most of us had graduated the year before. After any graduation, some friends try to keep in touch, but most do not. We did and still do. I have know Jon since the 3rd grade and Aj and Bry since High School and Kev fit right in with us in college. I went to ISU and the rest went to IPFW. I sure wish we all could have gone together. Its not to say we didn't get together and party, we did that for sure. 1994, wow!
-Bill Clinton was president

FISHING QUOTES
The two best times to fish is when it's rainin' and when it ain't.
Give a man a fish and he'll eat for a day - teach a man to fish and he'll sit in a boat and drink beer all day.
Nothing makes a fish bigger than almost being caught.
The solution to any problem -- work, love, money, whatever -- is to go fishing, and the worse the problem, the longer the trip should be.
The best way to a fisherman's heart is through his fly.
Fishing is much more than fish. It is the great occasion when we may return to the fine simplicity of our forefathers.

Meet the boys...
Jon (Big D), avid Salmon Angler. He caught this nice King on Lake Ontario at BCT 11.
I think Jon would die a happy man if he never cast another lure again. Trolling is his expertise. He has the flow charts, pie charts, power point slides, GPS marks, and log books to prove it.
If you want to catch fish, go trolling with the Master.
"go get ya some" D
AJ (the Wreckin' Ball). We have him to blame for getting us all hooked (pardon the pun) on Muskie fishing.
My wallet thanks him.
He caught this huge monster at BCT 10 in 2003. This truly is the fish of a life time. She measured over 53 inches and had to weigh in the 40 pound range. AJ gently released her back into the river. More pictures of this magnificent fish to come.

Scott, thats me.
I landed this Striped Bass on the Hudson River.
The lower picture tells you how long I've loved to fish. You can see that my Father got me started at a young age.
Thank You, Dad!
The great thing about fishing is that it never gets old. Its a great way to relax and forget about all your troubles for awhile. And, if you catch fish, its just an added bonus.
Good times and GREAT friends, thats what its about!

Brian (Dry Bry) - Bry caught the behmoth Flatheat Catfish on the Santee Cooper Lakes in S.C. At BCT 10, we decided to target a new fish species and Bry hooked into this 37 pounder.
Bry prefers his homemade lures over the expensive store-bought variety. They look just like the packaged ones, and usually work as good, if not better. You can make anything into a lure. Ask him about the "Door Hinge Bry Special".

Kevin (Kever) - the net man, gets a great fish for himself.
Muskie's have large teeth as you can see on Kever's bloody left hand. This ole fish got himself a little payback!
Kev, a somewhat quiet guy. He seems to always wants to fish in slightly deeper or slightly shallower water then you are currently in, which by the way, he never fails to mention.

Jon's Friend
Speaking of the Santee Copper trip. We were all getting ready to head out to fish when Jon had to go back to the cabin for something he forgot. So, he set his Coke on the dock and ran back to get the stuff. Well, this dog here wanted a drink of Jon's coke. Well, we felt sorry for the poor thing and let him drink right out of the can. We didn't GIVE the dog the drink, we just didn't stop him from slobbering all over the mouth of the can. The dog has his fill, Jon comes back, grabs the coke, hops in the boat and off we go.
Oops. We "forgot" to tell him about the dog until after he slammed the rest of the soda. Our bad.

The State Record Catfish...Almost
Bry as usual catching the wierd "fish" using un-normal weapons and tactics. Bry hooked up to this monster late at night on the Santee Cooper Lakes at BCT 9, 2002. We were fishing for cats in a canal between the lakes in moving water. He hooks into the beast and it doesn't come easy. It starts to go w/ the flow of the the water. He claims to feel it head shake ever-so-often. Well, we don't believe he has a fish, so we all take a turn. Sure enough! Its fighting back!
We all wonder what Bry is going to wear for the news interview that is sure to come from smashing the South Carolina Catfish record. After 20 minutes or so, I suggest we drag the fish to shallow water and try to fight him there and/or drag its butt to shore. Sounds like a plan...and it works! Its huge!
...for a tree branch. The moving water and the limbs rolling around made it feel like something fighting back. It was fun to dream...

BCT's BIGGEST FISH per Year (click on any pic to enlarge)
BCT 15 - Totem Point Lodge, ON 2008
I'll give Kev the biggest, but AJ caught the most. I believe this one was caught right by the boat just after dark. For those of you that have never muskie fished, it's quite an experience. Muskies tend to have explosive strike's boat-side. And when it happens next to the boat, after dark, and you never see it coming, is truly one reason we love to muskie fish. Nobody knew this fish around and we only realized it when that fish hammered the lure, went crazy, and soaked the entire back of the boat. Awesome!
Here is AJ holding his large frog lure that one muskie hit twice, but failed to grab the hook (leg missing). The second picture is his 3rd muskie of the trip finally caught on a top-water lure.
Bry, who usually likes doing his own thing, is shown here holding 2 nice muskie baits.

Hard to tell who had the biggest this year, so I just put up a few. We were after Striped-bass and thanks to Jon we found that they bit best in the middle of the day....wierd.
Kev caught a really nice spotted bass whilst trolling for stripers...
Jon, with a good sized fish.
Jon and Bry telling us we need to troll over here!

BCT 13 - French River, ON 2006
Hands down the biggest fish of any BCT. This brute was 54 inches and caught on a white muskie-sized spinner bait. This is truly a trophy muskie. Though we didn't want to harm the fish and weigh it, it was easily over 40 pounds. AJ plains to get a replica mount of this girl one day. She was expertly released to grow old and multiply.
